This Holiday season has been a very busy one for this South Florida Sinatra Tribute artist. Along with performing at a lot of Holiday parties I was also able to take part in another Jack Daniels event, representing Sinatra Select with the Hoboken 11 band (in picture above). Next year looks to be another great Sinatra year and I'm excited to be performing in my hometown in Michigan in front of many former classmates and family and friends. It has always been my honor and privilege to try to emulate The Voice as closely as I can and to keep his legend and great music alive. I'm always amazed at how much a younger audience appreciates hearing Sinatra style music being performed by a live performer. It keeps me going when I hear them say how much they like it (and might think that I sound a lot like Frank). I've always enjoyed connecting with several other Sinatra tribute artists across the country and the world as I believe we all have the same passion to keep his music alive for generations to come!
Attended a great event last night at the HistoryMiami Museum, where there has a been a Sinatra exhibit since March. Sinatra's former Manager Eliot Weisman spoke and took part in answering questions for a little over an hour. Weisman was Sinatra's Manager for the latter part of his career including the late 70's through the 90's. He helped conceive the highly successful Duets album, as well as the Ultimate Tour in the late 80's. He provided some great insight as to what is was like working with The Chairman all those years. Much of the discussion focused around Sinatra's temperament, decision making, likes/dislikes, friends and family. As a Sinatra tribute artist, it was an honor to meet someone that worked so closely to 'Ol Blue Eyes and he was nice enough to take a pic with me along with signing my Ultimate Sinatra CD. I presented him with my Live and Loud Cd, which was the recording from my Sinatra Sintennial Show last year at Seminole Casino and I'm crossing my fingers that he will actually listen to it! Looking forward to another busy weekend performing at 50th birthday party as well as my weekly Sinatra Saturdays at Amici's in Kendall! On May 14, 1998 Frank Sinatra passed away and left his legacy for the world to emulate forevermore. Sinatra was much more than a vocalist/actor. He lived his life to the fullest for sure and his passion for life is why he became head and shoulders above all other performers. He was relentless in his pursuit for perfection in all aspects of his life. He created swagger and nobody will ever match his flair and charisma. All we can do now as Sinatra performers is do our best to keep his magic alive and introduce it to a new generation. I have been performing the Sinatra standards for over 20 years to audiences young and old. I'm sometimes amazed at how well the younger generation appreciates his music, especially when I perform with my band the Hoboken 11. We recently did a Jack Daniel's event to a crowd of mostly 20 somethings and received great responses on various social media site. This is my first official Sinatra blog and I'm looking forward to weekly posts about my weekly events where I pay tribute to the Voice of all voices, The Chairman, Ol' Blue eyes, among several other great legends like Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, and Tony Bennett. I learn more and more everyday about these legends and meet people who might have known them as well. I'm looking very forward to a great event on Thursday May 19 at HistoryMiami Museum where Eliot Weisman, Sinatra's former Manager will be speaking. Click here for more info I will be reporting again after I attend this event! |
